Why is my iPhone 13 overheating and draining battery so quickly?

Hey everyone! I've been experiencing overheating issues with my iPhone 13, which is about 3 years old. Lately, it's been getting really hot to the point where I get a temperature warning. The battery drains incredibly fast too – it goes from 100% to 25% in about 2.5 hours during a video call, and even apps like Instagram seem to drain it quickly. I'm curious if this might be caused by malware, a software issue, or something else. Also, I recently switched to a prepaid SIM card, and I'm not sure if that might be impacting the performance. I'm on the latest version of iOS and have tried using low power mode, restarting the phone, and closing unused apps, but nothing seems to help.

First, you might want to check your battery’s health. Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health to see if it's degraded. If it's below 80%, that could definitely be the issue. Sometimes, an older battery can't handle the load, causing overheating and quick drain.

My maximum capacity is at 84%, so it’s not terrible but not great either.

The only time I got a temperature warning was when I was outside in the blazing sun. If you’re indoors and it’s still getting hot, there might be other issues. Also, no AC could be a factor; even a warm room can affect your phone.

Yep, I was indoors and it wasn't hot outside but there was no AC, so maybe that’s contributing to it.
