Hey everyone! I'm currently running a 2020 build with a Ryzen 5 3600, an MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS motherboard, and a GeForce RTX 2070. I just ordered a 5060 Ti, and I'm wondering if my CPU will bottleneck this new graphics card. If that's the case, I'm open to upgrading my processor to something better that's compatible with my AM4 socket. From what I've found, the Ryzen 7 5800 might be a solid choice. Am I on the right track, or should I just stick with my current CPU?

If you’re sticking with AM4, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is the best CPU you can get for this platform. It’ll definitely boost your gaming performance.
I think upgrading your CPU is a great idea! You can get a used Ryzen 5 5600X for about $100, and if you want more power, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D is around $300. Both should help you get the most out of that new GPU.
I’m in a similar situation! Just a heads up, it all depends on your gaming resolution. Your CPU will bottleneck less at higher resolutions like 4K. But if you’re playing at 1080p or 1440p, you might see some issues, especially in CPU-heavy games.
I mainly play at 1080p, so that makes sense. Thanks for the heads up!
