Blender Becomes Extremely Slow After Several Minutes on Linux Mint

Blender runs normally for about 5–30 minutes while I'm modeling, then suddenly becomes almost unusably laggy. Closing and reopening Blender fixes the problem temporarily, but the slowdown returns after roughly five minutes. My computer has both AMD and NVIDIA graphics, and I'm using Linux Mint. I also noticed the lag seems to begin when I rename objects, and the system monitor sometimes shows a second Blender process that I can't close normally.

This could be related to memory or virtual memory becoming saturated, especially since restarting Blender temporarily clears the problem. Check your system’s available RAM and swap usage while the slowdown is happening, rather than looking only at total installed memory. It’s also worth checking Blender’s memory and undo-history settings. However, the AMD/NVIDIA setup and the duplicate Blender process make a graphics-driver or stuck-process issue possible too, so more hardware, driver, and Blender version details would help narrow it down.

I noticed the slowdown consistently starts while I’m renaming objects. At the same time, the system monitor shows another Blender process that stays open even when I try to end it, so that may be connected.
