I'm ready to move away from Windows and need help choosing a Linux distribution. My system has a B550 motherboard, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and a GTX 1060 with 3GB of VRAM. Gaming and emulation are my main priorities. I'd prefer a mutable distribution rather than an immutable one, and I don't want a rolling-release model. Customization is also important because I'd like to build my own desktop setup or "rice." I'm currently considering Pop!_OS, Linux Mint Cinnamon, Fedora KDE, Kubuntu, and Zorin OS. Which would you recommend?

Fedora KDE seems like a strong match. It works well as a daily-use system, and KDE gives you plenty of freedom to customize the desktop. You can always switch distributions later if it doesn’t feel right.
Fedora is worth trying, especially the KDE edition. It offers a polished daily-driver experience and has enough customization options to build a very personal desktop layout.
