I performed a clean installation of Windows 11 on my Alienware M15 R4. While playing a game through Steam, the system crashed with an iaStorAC.sys blue screen. I have already installed the latest available drivers, BIOS update, and other relevant firmware, and I have crash-dump files available for analysis. I have also seen occasional "Hard Drive - Not Installed" errors during boot, including before reinstalling Windows. Could the SSD or its connection be failing, and what should I check next?

The most useful next step is examining several minidump files rather than relying only on the stop-code names. If Windows can start normally or in Safe Mode, copy everything from C:WindowsMinidump, compress it, and upload the archive for analysis. If no dumps are being created, enable Small Memory Dumps and reproduce the crash so there is more than one file to compare.
The crash codes point toward the storage path. An Unexpected Store Exception can indicate a problem with the SSD itself, while DPC Watchdog Violation often involves storage drivers or firmware. Since the BIOS has already been updated, power the laptop down and reseat the SSD if you are comfortable opening it. Also check the drive’s health and run the manufacturer’s diagnostic tools. Make sure important data is backed up before changing the drive or BIOS settings.

I have also seen “Hard Drive - Not Installed” errors during startup, including before the Windows reset. Could that mean the SSD needs to be replaced?
