What’s the best gaming PC build for around £700 in the UK?

I'm looking to spend around £700 on a gaming PC, although I can stretch the budget a little if it makes a meaningful difference. I'd mainly play games such as Assassin's Creed, Spider-Man, God of War, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, and other esports titles. I'm based in the UK and would prefer a system that looks reasonably clean, but I don't need lots of RGB lighting. Should I build with new parts, buy used, or consider a prebuilt?

If you want to build with entirely new parts, it may be better to save closer to £1,000. That gives you more room for a balanced CPU, graphics card, power supply, and storage without cutting too many corners. UK prebuilt systems from warehouse retailers are another option, but at around £700 they often offer weaker performance for the money. A used system could give you considerably better gaming performance at this budget.

That makes sense. I’d appreciate seeing an example of what a roughly £1,000 new-parts build would look like for comparison.

At this budget, used systems are worth considering, especially through local marketplaces. Look for machines with a decent dedicated graphics card, then search for benchmarks using the exact CPU and GPU combination to estimate how well they’ll handle your games. If you find a few candidates, compare their parts and condition before choosing.

Thanks, I’ll have a look at some used systems and compare the components and benchmark results.
