I accidentally deleted my entire photo library from my Windows laptop when I removed the OneDrive folder. I saw a folder called OneDrive with some seemingly empty folders, so I deleted it to clear up space. When I did that, I got a prompt about system files, skipped some, and confirmed the deletion, thinking it was fine. Now all my photos are gone, and I can't find them in the recycling bin or through search. I don't understand how deleting OneDrive could delete my local photos since I don't have a OneDrive account set up or any cloud storage active. How is this even possible, and is there any way to recover my lost photos?

First thing's first, check if you have any backups. Windows might have a built-in backup option that could save you!

I don’t have OneDrive set up because I removed it a while back. I'm not syncing files online, so I'm wondering where any backups would have come from.
