I have an iPhone 16 running iOS 18.5, and over the past few days my charger has started connecting and disconnecting repeatedly. Occasionally, I also get a warning saying that the accessory is using too much power. I've been using the same official Apple cable and charging brick for about a year. The charger seems to work normally with other people's devices, while other chargers work with my iPhone, so I'm not sure whether the problem is the cable, brick, charging port, or phone. Has anyone found a reliable fix for this?

Try updating the iPhone to the latest available version of iOS first. A software update may fix charging or accessory-detection problems.
Test the phone with a different cable, preferably a certified one, and inspect the charging port for lint or debris. You can also try resetting Location & Privacy settings, since that may clear accessory-recognition glitches.

I’m currently low on storage and haven’t updated because I dislike the newer interface. Could staying on an older iOS version be causing this issue?
