Help! My Computer Shows ‘This Device is Paused’ – What Does It Mean?

I've got a tower PC that suddenly displays this message saying "This device is paused." I have no idea what it means, and I'm kind of panicking because I really need help fast. I've read some things about it possibly being hijacked, which is freaking me out. Also, my computer can't connect to Wi-Fi, which makes it hard for me to troubleshoot the issue. Can anyone shed some light on what's going on?

Double-check if you accidentally toggled airplane mode on your PC. Sometimes hitting the function key with a Wi-Fi key can turn that on without you realizing it!

Good call! I’ll check that out right away.

First up, try logging into your router and checking the settings. It could be a parental control or something similar that's causing this pause. Also, when you say the Wi-Fi isn't working, do you mean your computer is connected to the router but you can't actually access the internet?

Just to clarify, are you using a laptop or a desktop PC? It might change how we approach the fix. But if it's a PC, maybe there’s an issue with your router setup. If it’s a new router, ensure it’s set up correctly because sometimes they require specific configurations, especially with certain ISPs like Xfinity.
