Hey everyone! I just got my first gaming PC and I'm currently using an ASUS TUF VG27AQL3A monitor. I've connected a DisplayPort cable, but I also have this SS cable lying around. Do I need to use the SS cable too? If so, where does it connect on my MSI Codex Z2 B8NVP-434US? Just trying to get everything set up right! Thanks in advance!

Honestly, you're fine without it. The DisplayPort cable is what you need for video. The SS cable just helps with connecting USB devices like keyboards or mice directly to your monitor. Just be sure to plug it into your monitor if you decide to use it—makes life a bit easier!
The SS cable is likely for the USB hub built into your monitor. While it's not strictly necessary, using it can help reduce clutter by allowing you to connect USB devices directly to your monitor instead of your PC. So, if you want to keep things tidy, it could be worth using! Just plug it into a USB port on your PC.
Wait, how does that actually cut down on the cables? I don’t get it.
