I have a Dell Latitude 7490, which should support TPM 2.0 according to the specifications I found. However, Windows, the BIOS, and PC Health Check all report that no TPM is available. I also updated the BIOS but still cannot find any TPM-related option. What should I check or do to make TPM 2.0 appear and work?

In Windows, press Win + R, enter `tpm.msc`, and check the TPM Management window. The specification section will show whether the system has TPM 1.2, TPM 2.0, or no detected TPM. This helps distinguish a disabled device from a firmware or hardware problem.
First, check whether TPM is simply disabled in the BIOS. On this model, look under the Security section for an option such as TPM 2.0 Security, TPM device, or Security Device Support, then enable it and save the changes. The exact wording can vary with the BIOS version.
The Latitude 7490 is normally equipped with TPM 2.0, so if there is no TPM option in the BIOS even after updating it, verify the exact service tag and BIOS version on Dell's support page. A company-managed BIOS, an unusual motherboard replacement, or a firmware configuration issue could also explain why the setting is missing.
In that case, check for a separate TPM firmware update and confirm that the installed motherboard matches the 7490 configuration. If both are correct and the option is still absent, the TPM may be disabled at a lower firmware level or the system board may need service.
Install Dell Command | Update and check for both BIOS updates and TPM firmware updates. Some Latitude 7490 systems shipped with TPM 1.2 and require Dell's TPM firmware package to move to version 2.0. Make sure the laptop is plugged in and follow Dell's instructions carefully before starting the firmware update.

I already updated the BIOS, but the TPM setting still does not appear in the Security section.
