What upgrades are possible for a Dell OptiPlex 5080, especially the graphics card?

I received a 2020 Dell OptiPlex 5080 from the school where I work, and it runs the games I'm interested in surprisingly well. However, recording or streaming makes gameplay extremely choppy, so I'd like to upgrade the graphics card if possible. I'm also open to other affordable upgrades that could improve performance. Money is tight, so replacing the whole computer isn't realistic. The exact model size, current CPU, RAM, graphics, and power supply are still unknown, but I can check the specifications and take a photo with the side panel removed.

If yours is the full-size tower, you have the best chance of installing a graphics card. A suitable low-power card, such as an RTX 3050 6GB or another model that doesn’t require an additional power connector, could improve gaming and recording. The small-form-factor and micro versions may require short or low-profile cards and have much tighter limits.

Before buying anything, open System Information and record the processor, installed memory, graphics adapter, and power-supply rating. Also confirm whether the current graphics is integrated or dedicated. More RAM or an SSD can improve general responsiveness, but neither will solve recording-related GPU limitations as much as the right graphics card would.

The power supply is usually the main restriction. Dell systems often use proprietary power connections and may not include the PCIe cables that larger graphics cards need. A low-power card that runs entirely from the motherboard slot is generally the safest option, but the case still needs enough room and an available PCIe slot.

It depends heavily on which version of the OptiPlex 5080 you have. Dell sold tower, small-form-factor, and micro versions, and they have very different upgrade limits. Check the exact CPU, RAM, GPU, power-supply wattage, and case size, and include a photo of the inside if possible.
