I recently updated my Windows 11 PC from an earlier Windows 11 release to version 26H2, and several problems started afterward. Restarting took an unusually long time, and once the computer came back on, some applications became sluggish. Chrome takes longer to load webpages, YouTube videos are slow to start, and Windows Update reports an error. My system has a Ryzen 5 5600 processor, a Gigabyte Radeon RX 6600 graphics card, and 64 GB of RAM. I have already updated the firmware and drivers. What troubleshooting steps should I try to fix these issues?

Since this was an update from one Windows 11 release to another, first confirm that Windows is completely patched and that all motherboard, chipset, graphics, storage, and network drivers are current. The Windows Update error may be related to the slowdown, so check the exact error code and run the built-in Windows Update troubleshooter. If the problems began immediately after the update, also consider rolling back the update or using System Restore if either option is available.

It was an update from Windows 11 to the latest Windows 11 release, not an upgrade from Windows 10. I did update the firmware and drivers, but I’ll double-check everything and look for the Windows Update error code.
