What are good alternatives to CDW for Office LTSC licensing?

I'm trying to purchase a small number of Microsoft Office LTSC licenses, but CDW has ignored my emails and calls since April. I haven't even been able to complete the company onboarding process. Has anyone had better experiences with another reseller or licensing provider?

I’d look for a reputable local VAR, especially if your organization is small or midsize. Smaller resellers can be much more responsive, and you may get a consistent point of contact instead of being treated according to account size. It’s worth comparing pricing, licensing expertise, and support before choosing one.

Local providers aren’t automatically better, but asking other IT directors which VARs they use has worked well for us. We reevaluate vendors regularly rather than relying on one forever.

SHI is probably the most commonly recommended alternative. Several people have had good experiences with them for software licensing and hardware, although the quality still seems to depend heavily on the assigned account representative. Insight is another solid option, especially if you can use its online purchasing tools for certain Microsoft licensing programs.

We’ve used Insight for years and have generally been happy. Our long-term rep is responsive and upfront about renewals, availability, and alternative products.

Before abandoning CDW completely, try requesting a different account representative. A lot of customers reported that their experience changed dramatically after a rep change—some got same-day responses, while others were effectively ignored. Still, having a backup reseller is sensible so one unresponsive account doesn’t delay a purchase.

The type of Microsoft agreement matters too. Ask providers whether they support the licensing route you need, such as CSP, MPSA, or an enterprise agreement. Some have online portals that make straightforward orders much faster.

PC Connection, MicroAge, MNJ Technology, Data Center Warehouse, and Softchoice were all mentioned as alternatives. Experiences vary, but several people specifically praised their responsiveness and account management. Dell may also be worth checking for Microsoft licensing because its pricing can be competitive.
