Pixel 10 Charges but Won’t Connect to Android Auto in My Honda Civic

My Pixel 10 connects to Android Auto normally in my 2020 Toyota Highlander, but it suddenly stopped connecting to my 2018 Honda Civic. My wife's phone still works with the Civic, and my Pixel was working with it until last week. When I plug it in, the phone only charges instead of launching Android Auto. I've tried three different USB cables, cleared Android Auto's cache, restarted both the phone and the car's head unit, and factory-reset the Pixel. I also removed the phone from the Civic and forgot the car in the phone's Bluetooth settings. What else should I try?

Try completely removing the phone from the Civic’s paired-device list, then remove the Civic from the phone’s Bluetooth and Android Auto connection history. After restarting both devices, pair them again from scratch. Make sure any old or duplicate phone entries are deleted from the car first.

I already removed the Civic from the phone and deleted the phone from the car, but I’ll double-check that there aren’t any other saved entries.

Since the same phone works in another vehicle and your wife’s phone works in the Civic, the problem is probably specific to the Civic’s USB connection or Android Auto setup rather than the phone itself. Check the car’s USB port for debris or damage, and try every compatible USB port if it has more than one. The port may still provide power while its data connection has failed.

If the Civic supports wireless Android Auto, testing with a compatible wireless adapter could help determine whether the issue is limited to the wired USB data connection. If wireless works but plugging in still only charges, that points strongly to the car’s USB data port or its head-unit software.
