Is this high-end PC build balanced and good enough for 4K gaming?

I'm planning a high-end gaming PC and would appreciate a sanity check on the parts list. The build includes a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, TRYX Panorama 360 SE Black liquid cooler, ROG Strix X870E-E Gaming WiFi 7 motherboard, ROG Astral RTX 5080, 64GB of Dominator Titanium DDR5-6000 CL30 memory, a 2TB Samsung 9100 PRO plus 4TB SN850X, a ROG Strix 1000W Platinum power supply, and a ROG Cronus GR801 case. Is everything compatible and balanced, or are any parts unnecessary or worth changing?

You should also check whether you actually need both premium NVMe drives. They provide lots of fast storage, but game loading times may not differ much from a less expensive secondary SSD. Put the operating system and frequently used applications on the fastest drive, then use the larger drive for your game library.

It depends on what you’re using it for. If this is mainly for gaming, it’s likely overkill unless you’re targeting 4K, high refresh rates, ray tracing, or heavily modded games. For normal gaming, you could spend less without noticing much difference, but there’s nothing obviously weak in this configuration.

This is already an extremely high-end system, so there isn’t really a “will it be good enough?” concern. For 4K gaming, the 9800X3D and RTX 5080 should handle demanding games very well. The main thing to confirm is that the case supports the radiator, graphics card length, and power supply dimensions.

The parts look more like an enthusiast build than a practical midrange one. The 64GB of DDR5-6000 CL30 is a strong pairing for the CPU, and a 1000W Platinum PSU gives you plenty of headroom. Just make sure the motherboard and case versions are correctly named and that the BIOS supports the processor.
