I bought a 16GB RTX 5060 Ti about a year ago and have been using it for 1440p gaming at high settings, sometimes with ray tracing enabled. GPU prices have risen recently, and I may be able to sell my current card and buy an RX 9070 XT for only about $100 more. Would the performance upgrade be worthwhile, or should I keep my current GPU? I'm especially interested in 1440p performance, ray tracing, frame generation, and whether giving up Nvidia's features would be a noticeable downside.

If the extra cost really is only around $100, the RX 9070 XT should provide a substantial rasterization performance increase at 1440p and give you more headroom for demanding games. It could be a good upgrade as long as you’re comfortable with AMD’s software and features instead of Nvidia’s.
Ray tracing is generally a stronger area for Nvidia, so the 9070 XT’s advantage is smaller when heavy RT effects are enabled. AMD’s frame-generation features can still help, but their quality and latency depend on the game. Check benchmarks for the specific titles you play before deciding.
I’d compare the exact selling price, warranty, power requirements, and the games you actually play. For mostly standard rendering, the 9070 XT is likely a very noticeable step up for a small net cost. For frequent ray-traced gaming or reliance on Nvidia-specific features, keeping the 5060 Ti may be more appealing.
The main thing to consider is whether your current setup is actually limiting you. If the 5060 Ti already delivers the frame rates and image quality you want, there may be no urgent reason to upgrade. The 9070 XT makes more sense if you want higher refresh-rate performance, better longevity, or fewer compromises at 1440p.
