Severe Monitor Flickering Only While Playing Control Resonant

My Samsung Odyssey G52 IPS monitor flickers extremely rapidly whenever I play Control Resonant—almost like a lightbulb switching on and off at high speed. Occasionally, parts of the game's text also appear to linger on the screen with a temporary burn-in-like effect. The issue does not appear in screen recordings, so it seems specific to the monitor or display connection rather than the GPU rendering output. No other game causes this behavior. I have G-Sync enabled on this FreeSync monitor, which is G-Sync Compatible. After returning to the desktop and leaving the monitor idle for a while, the flickering eventually stops. Could variable refresh rate be responsible, and should I disable it in the monitor's OSD, in the Nvidia Control Panel, or both?

This sounds like a variable-refresh-rate compatibility problem. Since the monitor is FreeSync-based and G-Sync Compatible, try disabling G-Sync for this specific game first in the Nvidia Control Panel. If the flickering continues, turn off Adaptive-Sync or FreeSync in the monitor’s OSD as well, then test the game again. You can also try a different DisplayPort cable, reduce the refresh rate temporarily, and update the monitor firmware and graphics driver.

I had only tried leaving the game and waiting on the desktop. I’ll test it with G-Sync disabled first, then disable Adaptive-Sync on the monitor if necessary.
