I accidentally dropped my phone in the shower, and shampoo seems to have gotten inside. I noticed a bubble around the charging port, and although I wiped the phone off, the speakers now sound distorted. I can also see what looks like shampoo coming out of the speaker openings. I'm worried there may be liquid or residue in the charging port and that charging it could cause damage. What should I do, and has anyone dealt with something similar?

Water resistance isn’t the same as being protected from every kind of liquid, especially soapy water. The phone model and its condition matter, since seals can weaken over time. Don’t assume it’s safe just because it turns on—keep it disconnected from power and get a repair shop to clean or check it if liquid continues coming from the speakers or the audio doesn’t return to normal.
Turn the phone off and do not plug it in until the charging port is completely dry. Remove the case, gently rinse only if your phone is rated for water exposure and the manufacturer allows it, then let it air-dry with the port facing downward. Avoid rice, hair dryers, and compressed air. If the speaker remains distorted or the phone shows charging problems after drying, have it inspected because shampoo residue can cause corrosion.
