What are you using to back up Intune configuration and policies?

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a reliable way to back up Intune configuration profiles, Settings Catalog policies, and related settings. We currently use the IntuneBackupAndRestore PowerShell module, but it now fails after exporting only the first 25 Settings Catalog entries, and it doesn't appear to be actively maintained. Veeam's cloud backup doesn't cover everything we need either. Are there any maintained PowerShell modules or alternative products worth considering? I'd prefer a practical, automated solution rather than manually recreating the configuration.

CoreView is worth looking at if you have the budget. It’s designed for this kind of configuration management and backup, although it’s a commercial option rather than a lightweight PowerShell solution.

The JSON export and built-in change tracking sound especially useful. I’ll compare that option with CoreView.

For disaster recovery, I’d separate Microsoft 365 content backup from configuration backup. A service can protect mail and files without covering all of your Intune and broader Azure configuration, so make sure the solution explicitly lists the policy types and settings you need to recover.

The free-tier tool from Micke-k is probably the best option to investigate. It’s transparent, exports the configuration to JSON, and appears to be actively maintained. The JSON output also makes it easy to review or restore individual settings.
