I'm wondering if the Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler can handle the heat from the Intel i9-14900K or KF. I'd like to avoid splurging on a more expensive cooler if possible, but I'm also concerned about thermal performance. Any thoughts?

If gaming's your primary use, you might want to look at alternatives like the 14600KF instead of the 14900K. It's more efficient and won't require as much cooling power, saving you some hassle with thermals!

The Peerless Assassin just doesn’t cut it for the i9 if you're pushing 265W. It might work for basic use, but expect throttling under heavy loads. A good 360mm AIO cooler would be a safer bet, particularly for gaming. Besides, this CPU can push up to 100°C, so heat management is key!

While the Peerless Assassin can handle mid-range loads, it struggles with high wattage demands. For gaming on an i9-14900K, I highly recommend investing in a better cooler like the Thermalright or a solid AIO. This CPU runs hot, and you'll need good airflow to keep it cool!

Honestly, I wouldn't rely on the Peerless Assassin 120 SE for the i9-14900K. This CPU can get pretty toasty, and while you could technically make it work, a 360mm AIO cooler is the way to go for better performance. If you're new to building, consider upgrading to a platform like AM5 or LGA 1851 instead for long-term benefits.

I think you should do a bit more research before buying. The i9-14900K is quite powerful and can turn into a real heat generator if you're not prepared. Make sure you’re set up properly to avoid getting stuck with a pricey 'space heater' for gaming!
