What are the best transcription tools for recordings I already have?

I've used Otter for about two years, but my current need is different: I'm transcribing older recordings rather than having an assistant join live meetings. I have roughly 40 voice memos from site visits saved on my phone, and I'd like to upload the existing files for transcription and possibly summaries. I'm considering WhisperAI because it supports files up to 5 GB or 10 hours, and I don't mind that it doesn't integrate with Zoom or Google Meet. What tools are you using for audio files that already exist?

Fireflies.ai is worth looking at. It can handle uploaded recordings, so you don’t have to use its meeting bot. I switched after running into frustrating upgrade prompts when trying to process longer files elsewhere.

Prisma Scribe worked well for me when I had a large batch of old recordings. I initially processed the files individually, but using a dedicated transcription service made the backlog much easier to manage.

A lot of AI note-taking tools support file uploads even if their main focus is live meetings. tl;dv is one option that accepts audio files and can produce both transcripts and summaries.
