I've been troubleshooting an HP Envy Photo 7200-series printer for several months. I'm trying to use it with Windows 11 PCs at my parents' house, where they have a mesh Wi-Fi system. The printer appears in the HP app and completes network setup, but printing fails with errors such as "Your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem. 0x800705b4." Windows also reports that drivers are unavailable when I try to add the printer normally.
I brought the printer to another location and tested it with a different Windows 11 computer. It works occasionally there, but the same errors return at other times. Could the mesh router or a corrupted network configuration be causing this, or is the problem more likely related to the HP software, drivers, or printer firmware? I'd appreciate suggestions for getting it working reliably.

The inconsistent behavior does point to a combination of HP software and network discovery problems. Mesh systems can isolate devices, steer them between access points, or place them on separate guest and main networks. Make sure the computer and printer are on the same non-guest network, temporarily disable client isolation, and give the printer a reserved IP address in the router. Updating the printer firmware is also worth doing before testing again.
Try setting it up manually instead of relying on automatic discovery. In Windows, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > Add device > Add manually, then choose the option to add a local or network printer with manual settings. If you are testing over USB, select the existing USB001 port and use Windows Update to load the HP ENVY Photo 7200 series driver. Reconnect the cable afterward and print a test page.
I’d start by removing every HP printer entry and driver from Windows, then reinstall only the basic driver from HP rather than the full software package. The larger HP package can sometimes leave behind conflicting services or duplicate printer queues. After uninstalling, restart the computer, install the current driver, and add the printer again using its network address if possible.
If it still fails after a clean driver installation and firmware update, the printer itself may simply be unreliable. Some HP models continue producing configuration and connection errors even after being replaced with another unit. If possible, test with a direct USB connection; if USB is stable but Wi-Fi is not, focus on the mesh network. If both connections fail, replacing the printer may be more practical than repeatedly resetting the router.
