I'm planning to order parts for a new PC and would appreciate some outside opinions. I built my current system around seven or eight years ago, but I'm less familiar with today's hardware. I'm aiming for a mid-to-high-end build that should remain useful for several years, mainly for gaming and also for general coding. My current graphics card is an RTX 2060.

The parts I'm considering are:
- Crucial Pro DDR5 32GB 6000MHz (2x16GB)
- Corsair RM850e power supply
- ASUS Prime RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7
- MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk MAX WiFi motherboard
- Corsair Nautilus 360 RS liquid cooler
- AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- WD Black SN850X SSD

Is there anything here you would avoid or replace? I'm open to suggestions, especially regarding value and long-term gaming performance.

Overall, this looks like a very capable build for gaming and general coding. The 9800X3D is especially well suited to gaming, although an X3D processor is most worthwhile if gaming performance is the priority rather than competitive gaming specifically.

Gaming is the main purpose, replacing my older RTX 2060, while coding is secondary. I don’t really play competitive games, but the extra gaming performance is still useful across many types of games.

The parts list looks solid and well balanced for a high-end gaming system. The main question is whether the extra cost of the X3D processor and other premium parts fits your budget, since coding and everyday use would not need anything close to this level of performance.

The RTX 5070 may not offer the best price-to-performance ratio. The Radeon RX 9070 XT is often a stronger value and tends to deliver similar or better performance for the money. It also supports newer FSR features and frame generation in compatible games.

I compared the two and may switch to the 9070 XT. It looks noticeably cheaper without giving up much performance, so thanks for pointing it out.
