Is upgrading from an RTX 4070 Ti Super to an RTX 5070 Ti worth the cost?

I built my PC in December 2024, but hardware prices have changed dramatically since then. My 64GB DDR5 kit cost about £180 and is now close to £900, while my 4TB NVMe drive has risen from roughly £230 to around £600. My RTX 4070 Ti Super ProArt could also sell for more than I originally paid.

That makes me wonder whether I should sell it and move to an RTX 5070 Ti. After selling my current card, the upgrade would cost me approximately £350–£400. I'm mainly interested in the newer features associated with the RTX 50 series, especially DLSS improvements and Multi Frame Generation.

Would you consider that upgrade worthwhile, or should I keep the 4070 Ti Super and wait for a future generation?

Unless you specifically need better ray tracing or Multi Frame Generation in a particular game, keep the card you have. The money would be better saved toward a genuinely larger upgrade later, when the performance jump is much more obvious.

Look at benchmarks for the games and settings you actually use, but this is still a fairly small step up. If you were upgrading from something like an RTX 3060 or RTX 2070, the 5070 Ti would make much more sense. From a 4070 Ti Super, the extra performance probably won’t be noticeable enough for the money.

It’s closer to a mid-teens percentage increase in some workloads rather than only five percent, but that still doesn’t make the upgrade particularly compelling at this price.

I’d skip it. The 5070 Ti is faster, but the improvement generally isn’t large enough to justify spending £350–£400 when you already have a 4070 Ti Super. It would feel more like a modest sidegrade than a major upgrade. I’d wait for the next generation unless your current card is struggling with a specific game or resolution.

I wouldn’t upgrade solely for the new frame-generation features. Some newer DLSS features can be enabled on older cards through unofficial tools, although the experience and support may vary. Your 4070 Ti Super already has strong performance for 1440p, so waiting another generation is likely the better move.
