Thinking about Switching to Linux: Which Distro Should I Choose?

I'm currently using Windows 7 on my Thinkpad T410 and I'm struggling to find a Minecraft launcher that works for it. I can't upgrade to Windows 10 because the laptop doesn't handle it well. I also had a tough time finding drivers for the Nvidia NVS 3100M in my Thinkpad, which makes me wonder if there are even good drivers available for Linux. Should I switch to Linux, and if so, what distribution would you recommend?

Linux Mint is a great choice, especially for beginners! It has a familiar layout for Windows users and comes with a good selection of apps ready to use straight away.

That sounds good! I'm still a bit anxious about the driver situation for my NVS 3100M, though.

Why not give openSUSE Tumbleweed KDE a shot? It’s a solid option.
