How Does the Power Efficiency of the 4060 Compare to Other GPUs?

I'm curious if there are any GPUs out now or on the horizon that can match the NVIDIA 4060's low power consumption of 115 watts while delivering better performance. Is it safe to say nothing really comes close?

If you want the best efficiency, consider getting a higher-end card and just underclocking it. You can achieve better power efficiency by managing the clock speeds. The new 50 series cards might offer even better figures than the 40 series, but the improvements are marginal.

No, other GPUs in its class usually run around 180 watts or higher, like the 7600 XT or A770. The only one that is somewhat comparative seems to be the B580, which is around 180 watts too.

A 4070 can perform better at just 115 watts. Same goes for a 5070. Though they might use more power, they also manage to deliver a lot more performance with that power.

Wait, is it possible to limit a 4070 to 115 watts? And can it fit into a small ITX case?

I've had a pretty good experience with my Strix 4060. I built it into a small form factor case and ran it without any issues. They’re actually showing up for good prices used, too!

Yeah, it’s a great little option that outperforms a PS5. Just like comparing cars, you can’t say all compact cars are bad!

Honestly, the 4060 isn't all that great as a GPU. If the only thing you can say in its favor is its power efficiency, that doesn't really make a strong selling point. I believe the 4070 actually has better performance per watt, but you might want to take a look at Steve's reviews for all the details.

It’s not as bad as you say! It has its place, especially as a budget-friendly option for 1080p gaming. Some people don’t need a super high-end card, and they can find good value with the 4060.

I think it’s being underrated. Just because it’s not the most powerful card doesn’t mean it’s not worth considering, especially for casual gamers.
