How Can I Make ChatGPT More Direct Without Losing Quality?

I've noticed that my interactions with ChatGPT have changed over the past year. A while ago, when I asked for video ideas, it would give me a simple list without any unnecessary fluff, like this:
1. Video A
2. Video B
3. Video C
4. Video D
5. Video E

Now, it feels like it always starts with a lengthy intro, talking about how important videos are for branding and how it wants to connect deeply with my audience. Even when I ask it to get straight to the point, it still includes a lot of extra information. I want to know: how can I encourage ChatGPT to give me concise responses without sacrificing the quality or making poor recommendations?

I give it feedback by adjusting how it speaks. For example, if it's too casual, I tell it to be more formal. It helps align its tone with what I’m expecting.

I do something similar! Setting guidelines on how casual I want it to be makes a big difference.

To get more straightforward answers from ChatGPT, try tweaking your prompts. Make them really clear about what you're looking for—ask for specifics and limit the context. The more focused you are, the better the response tends to be!

Absolutely! I always remind it not to be too wordy. Just like you, I want the meat of the answer without the fluff.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. Setting strict boundaries in your prompts can help it stick to the point.

If you're looking for concise answers, using ChatGPT 4.1 has worked wonders for me. It's faster and definitely more to the point!

Honestly, it's a learning program that adapts to your input. If it seems like it's not giving you what you want, don't be surprised. Just focus on cutting out the fluff yourself and get to the answers directly. That’s what I do with it!

BluntForceTruth -

Exactly! It doesn't really have true intelligence, just patterns. It's up to us to drive the conversation.
