Can AI Create a Better Version of Itself?

I've been hearing a lot about AI's capabilities, especially when it comes to app development. Some folks claim that AI can make apps better than humans can. I'm curious if an AI can actually create an improved version of itself or even develop a more advanced AI. Has anyone seen this in action, or are we just speculating here?

Yeah, the idea of AI building AI sounds cool, but it's not that simple. If you train a new AI using data generated by another AI, you'll likely end up with a product that's just average. AI relies on diverse and rich datasets to be creative and effective, so using AI content might just dumb things down in the long run.

Totally! It's like playing a game with rules you already know. Feeding AIs 'average' data doesn't really push any boundaries.

That's an interesting question! Elon Musk's Grok project is trying to make strides in this area, but it's still in the works. As it stands, there's no AI that can just be told to create a new model on its own without human guidance. Building AI involves complex machine learning processes, raw data, and a lot of fine-tuning.

A lot of this tech still needs a human touch. For instance, while AI can provide suggestions and insights during development, it can't autonomously create better versions of itself just yet. We're seeing improvements, but we're not at singularity level by any means.
