Why am I only getting 8 FPS in Monster Hunter despite my powerful setup?

I'm playing Monster Hunter on a system with a Ryzen 7 7800 X3D CPU and a Radeon 7900 XT GPU, but I'm only averaging around 8 frames per second. Minecraft runs fine at about 56 FPS, though. I've updated all my drivers and even tried reinstalling the GPU, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Feel free to ask me for more details if needed!

I totally get where you're coming from. Just to clarify, the Ryzen 7 covers a range of CPUs, so knowing which specific model is key. The 7800 X3D should handle Monster Hunter pretty well. Try checking if there are any background apps using your GPU’s resources or a possibility of V-Sync capping your FPS. Also, clean installations can help if there are remnants from previous drivers causing issues. Hopefully, this helps!

Thanks, I appreciate the tips! I'll look into the background processes and consider a clean driver install.

It sounds like a frustrating situation! First off, you should check the actual settings you're using in Monster Hunter. Sometimes, just enabling certain settings can really tank your FPS. Are you playing at a high resolution with all the effects turned on? Lowering some settings or switching to 1080p could help boost your frame rate without losing too much quality. Also, is your CPU maybe throttling under load? That can sometimes happen if the cooling isn’t quite up to par or if the case airflow isn't great. Just something to keep in mind!
