I recently ordered a 5090 graphics card, but I'm not sure how to best connect my Corsair H1200 power supply. The power supply doesn't have a dedicated 12V cable slot and only came with two 8-pin cables, each featuring a daisy chain. I'm wondering if it would be okay to plug each of these cables into the 4:1 adapter that comes with the GPU and leave it at that. Alternatively, should I invest in two additional cables that Corsair sells for $22 each? I'm also concerned about whether mixing the original cables with new ones from Corsair could cause issues. Another thought I had was to simply buy a new PSU that comes with the right cables; it might be worth it since I've already spent a lot on the GPU, and I want to ensure everything is safe. Any advice on this?

Definitely avoid daisy chaining! I have a 5090 too, and I've heard that mixing third-party cables can lead to some serious issues, like melting. It's best to stick with the recommended cables from Corsair to power your card properly. You've invested a lot; make sure to do it right! Congrats on the new GPU, by the way!
Thanks! I didn’t think about the risks. I’ll definitely look into getting the right cables.
Seriously, forking out $3k for a GPU means you should also invest in a solid PSU that won't risk damaging your card. Spending an extra $160 might save you from a disaster later!
