I'm currently using a 5700XT GPU paired with a 3600X CPU and I'm considering upgrading to a 9070XT. I know my CPU might bottleneck the GPU, so I'm curious about how much of a performance difference I can expect. Also, I plan to upgrade my CPU and motherboard in the future. How much of an impact will a better CPU have on my gaming performance, especially since I want to play titles that require hardware ray tracing?

Don't forget that performance can vary based on the game. It’s important to consider your resolution too. Doom might not need a super-fast CPU unless you're going for max FPS, so it's not all about raw power. A 9070XT does edge out the RTX 3080 by quite a bit, but bottlenecking could definitely happen depending on the resolution and game.
You might want to check out this comparison video. It breaks down the performance of the 9070XT with different CPUs, including the 3600X. It shows how the upgrade could impact your gaming experience, especially at 1440p.
I usually play at 1440p to keep my FPS up, but I do have a 4K monitor. What's your take on gaming at different resolutions?
