My PC Won’t Turn On After Shutdown – What Should I Do?

I was playing the new Doom game when suddenly my PC turned off without warning. Now it won't turn on at all—there are no lights inside, and I've tried using different surge protectors and power cables that I know work. This has never happened to me before, and I'm really stuck. I've seen a post about testing the power supply unit (PSU), which I plan to do, but I'm looking for any advice on what else I can try or other possible fixes.

It might be a dead motherboard. In my experience, the PSU should make a clicking noise if it tries to power on but fails. Are you seeing or hearing anything when you hit the power button? Maybe check if your motherboard has an internal power switch?

Nothing at all happens when I press the button. No noise, no lights, and no fans kick on. I don't think there's an internal button, but I'll check the manual and also pull the PSU to test it tomorrow.

You could also try jump-starting your PSU with a paperclip. It's a common trick if your PSU has stopped working. I had a similar issue that turned out to be my PSU dying, and that method helped me figure it out fast.
