I'm using a refurbished Dell Optiplex 390 with an i3 2120, and I'm facing a frustrating issue where it freezes at random times. When this happens, pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del doesn't work, and even holding down the power button doesn't shut it off. The only way to turn it off is by unplugging it from the wall, after which it powers back on normally until the next freeze. Has anyone experienced something similar or have any suggestions?

Have you considered doing a clean install of your operating system? It might be a bit of a hassle, but it could solve your problem. Let me know if you decide to go that route!
It sounds like you might have a hardware issue causing these freezes. I recommend running MemTest86 to check your RAM and using CrystalDiskInfo to check the health of your hard drive. Reseating the RAM can also help, and keep an eye out for any bulging capacitors on the motherboard. If your power supply is old or underpowered, that could be an issue too. You might also want to update your BIOS and chipset drivers because instability is a common issue in refurbished systems like yours.
Since it's under warranty, I won't be attempting any hardware fixes right now, just sticking to software. If the RAM and SSD check out fine, would a format be the next best step?
That's one solution I think I might try since it's the only thing left, besides checking for warranty options.
