Hey everyone, I just received my new parts, and I wanted to check in about my Ryzen 7 9800X3D. I've heard about some unfortunate cases where these CPUs are dying, potentially due to voltage spikes. I switched from an ASRock motherboard to the MSI B850 Gaming Plus after hearing that ASRock boards are more prone to causing issues. I've also heard mixed things about MSI, with some saying they can have high voltage spikes too. I'm looking for advice on what steps I can take to ensure my CPU stays safe. I'm pretty much a beginner when it comes to motherboard settings and configurations, so any tips would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

I've been using an ASRock B650-E with a 9800X3D since launch, and it’s been rock solid. But sticking with MSI is a smart choice given what we know. Just stay vigilant with your system’s health and make sure you don't overdo anything.
Honestly, luck plays a big role in CPU longevity. If you have an MSI board, just make sure to monitor your temperatures and keep it under control. Avoid any extreme settings and let it run cool, and you'll likely be fine.
The main thing is to avoid ASRock boards; you've already done that by switching to MSI. If you're staying with stock settings and not pushing any overclocks, you should be in good shape. Just check that your BIOS is up to date to help manage voltage better.
So just leaving everything at stock is the way to go? That sounds easy!
So, I should just stick to MSI without tweaking anything?
