Is the SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 7800 XT a solid upgrade from my old Radeon R9 390?

My old Sapphire NITRO Radeon R9 390 has finally kicked the bucket after years of faithful service, and I'm on the hunt for a replacement. I've heard decent things about the SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB, but with a decade passing, I'm pretty lost on what to look for in a new graphics card. I use my PC for moderate gaming, Photoshop, and some 3D modeling/rendering. I want to know if the 7800 XT would be a good choice for me, and if there are any major compatibility issues with my current build. Here's my parts list for reference: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dwMvcx.

Honestly, with your setup running DDR3, I'd suggest considering a whole new build instead of just swapping the GPU. The 7800 XT might not be the best fit if the other parts are also outdated. You might deal with some bottlenecking if everything else is as old as the card you're replacing.

That’s definitely a reality check! I appreciate the insight.

If you're still using components that are a decade old, you might need to think about an entirely new computer. It’s not just about the graphics card; everything else matters too! You should check out if anything in your PC was upgraded in the last few years.

Thanks for the heads-up! I fixed the link I posted earlier; here's the current build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dwMvcx. I didn’t see any incompatibilities, but do I still need a full rebuild?

The 7800 XT is an excellent GPU! You'll be able to run 1440p with max settings on just about every game out there. It's a great choice for gaming and creative work!
