Help! My Controller Cable Isn’t Working with My PC

I've found myself in a bit of a pickle. I grabbed a pack of cables to connect my controller to my PC since it lacks Bluetooth capability. Unfortunately, one particular cable has gone haywire and my PC just won't recognize the controller through it anymore. I'm not sure what went wrong, but I've tested other cables successfully and even installed DS4Windows, which seems to work fine. I don't want to toss the faulty cable because I feel it can be fixed! The cable works perfectly on other devices, but with my PC and DualSense controller combined, it's a no-go. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this and hopefully avoid purchasing a new cable?

You mentioned that your cable works with other devices, but just to clarify: a cable can either transfer power or data. It’s possible the cable charges fine but doesn’t send data correctly to your controller, which would explain why it works with phones but not your PC. Can you confirm if it’s actually transmitting data? That could be the whole issue right there.

I tested it on two phones, and it connected right away, so I thought data transfer wasn’t the issue. But now I’m thinking maybe it isn’t performing like it should with the PC.
