I'm trying to decide between the 9600X for €220 or the 7800X3D for €450, which I would pair with a 7800XT. Most of my gaming is in WoW and CS2. Is the performance of the 7800X3D really worth the extra cost, or is the difference just a small percentage?

If you’re looking purely at bang for your buck, the 9600X is the way to go for general performance. It can handle CS2 really well, hitting around 500 FPS, but if WoW is your main concern, the X3D might be the better choice.
The 7800X3D really shines in World of Warcraft. If WoW is your main game, it could be worth the investment. I wouldn’t consider another series of CPUs if I were focusing on WoW. You'll likely see a smoother experience during intense gameplay.
Absolutely! The X3D chip makes mythic raiding feel super smooth. You definitely won't regret this upgrade.
The 9600X is more cost-effective, especially if you're not experiencing performance issues. But the X3D does give you that extra CPU cache for heavy games, particularly WoW, which might justify the price if you’re looking to maximize performance.
I wonder how the two compare specifically in WoW. Wish there were better benchmarks!
Totally agree! CS2 doesn't really stress the CPU that much; it’s WoW that you need to focus on.
