I'm really frustrated right now. I recently updated my computer from Windows 10 to Windows 11, and when I tried to play Dead by Daylight, it just got stuck on the title screen. I attempted to close the game, but Steam got stuck on 'stopping' and wouldn't progress. After shutting down my PC completely and restarting, Steam keeps telling me that I have Dead by Daylight running, even though I checked the Task Manager and it doesn't show the game or Steam as active. Whenever I try to close it, my computer crashes. Does anyone have a fix for this?

It sounds like Steam is having trouble releasing the game. Try rebooting your PC again and see if that clears the issue. If it doesn’t, you might want to check if there’s any background process of the game running. Sometimes, the Task Manager doesn’t show everything immediately.
