What to Do if Your Distro ISO Checksum Doesn’t Match?

I've been experimenting with downloading Drauger OS version 7.7 from their official website. The download gives me a large ISO file, and while using Linux Mint, I can easily verify the file's checksum with a right-click in the Nemo file browser. However, the SHA256 checksum I calculate (5cc55bdbbb2a5218d3c702b3e033ab00496e5e4268b1806ebeda94c600134953) doesn't match the one listed on the official website. I've checked this across three separate downloads, all yielding the same mismatch. What should I do now? Am I making a mistake somewhere?

I just downloaded it too, and got the same mismatch as you. It's a little concerning. It could either mean the ISO has been tampered with or that the checksums weren't updated after a change. Either way, I'd personally recommend not using that ISO at all. It's better to err on the side of caution and report this to the developers.

Yeah, it's definitely safe to delete it and inform them. There's recent history of some Linux sites getting hacked, and it's always good to be cautious!
