Why are my games experiencing frequent frame drops?

I've got a pretty solid gaming setup with an RTX 3080 Ti, a Ryzen 7700 CPU, 16GB of 5200MHz RAM, and both SSDs and an HDD. I typically run most of my games at very high or max settings at a WQHD resolution of 3440 x 1440. However, I'm facing frequent frame drops in games like GTA 5 Enhanced, World of Warships, TLOU, and TLOU2. Sometimes, my 1% lows can dip as low as 5fps in games where the average is over 100fps. These frame drops are really noticeable and ruin the experience. I'd love to hear any advice or feedback on how to improve the situation!

Don't forget to use DLSS if you're playing games like GTA 5 Enhanced; it can significantly boost performance. Make sure you're on the balanced setting for a nice blend of quality and frame rate.

Make sure to post your complete system specs, including your PSU. It helps in troubleshooting if we know what components you're using, especially the power supply unit.

You might want to consider that the CPU could be bottlenecking you, even if the Ryzen 7700 is new. Sometimes, the newer CPUs don't play as nicely with certain games. It could be worth looking into.

Have you checked the max temperatures for your CPU and GPU? High temps can throttle performance. If your CPU hits 82°C and your GPU often goes over 82-83°C, that might be part of the issue. Consider improving cooling if you're regularly hitting those numbers.

Check your VRAM usage with MSI Afterburner. Even though 12GB should typically suffice, it's good to see how much you're actually using in each game. I noticed mine hover around 9GB in those games too.
