My USB Drive Isn’t Recognized – What Can I Do?

Hey everyone! I've got this USB drive that just won't connect to anything anymore. I tried plugging it into my car and different computers, but no luck. Other USBs work just fine in the same ports, so I think the issue is with my USB. It's strange because when I plug it in, I hear the usual connection sounds, but it doesn't show up in any folders. In the device manager, it shows up as unknown, and it says the device descriptor request failed. I don't see any visible damage on it, so I'm wondering if there's anything I can try to fix it myself. If not, where should I go for professional help? Feel free to ask if you need more information!

It does sound like the USB might have failed internally. Also, just a thought, if you used it a lot in your car, sometimes that can lead to problems, especially with older drives. Over time, they can wear out. If you really need to recover something important from it, you might want to look for a data recovery service.

Honestly, this is a tough situation. If the USB is important, you should consider making backups of your files in the future. I know it might sound like a bummer to hear, but it's good advice. As for now, it sounds like there might be an internal failure with the drive. You might not be able to fix it yourself, but don't hesitate to get a professional opinion if you need to recover any crucial data.
