I recently came across a 14-year-old HDD from 2011 that has a capacity of 750GB. However, CrystalDiskInfo shows that the drive is bad, although it's mainly affecting some files and games. How much longer do you think it has before it completely fails? Here are the specifics:

- Reallocated Sectors count: 133
- Current Pending Sector Count: 200
- SATA Drive: 3.00Gbps
- Manufacture Date: September 19, 2011
- Model: WD Scorpio Blue (WD7500BPVT)
- Speed: 5400RPM
- Capacity: 750GB

At this point, performance is likely to be frustrating with a failing drive like this. Even if it holds some data, it's probably not worth the hassle. You might want to invest in a USB SSD or even a flash drive instead!

Great idea! Those USB SSDs are super handy for backups and will save you a lot of headaches.

Honestly, it's hard to say exactly how much time you have left. Some folks might guess a few months based on the sectors reported as bad. I’d say maybe 3 months and 17 days? Just a wild guess!

I think if you treat it right—maybe let it chill unplugged for periods—it could surprise you and last a while.
