I'm having trouble with the Ethernet ports in my walls. They seem to be wired correctly, and they connect to a smart panel where all the cables are managed. However, when I connect my PC directly to the router, everything works just fine. If I try to use the ports in the wall, I lose the connection. I've also tried connecting those cables directly to the router, but that didn't work either. I have three ports available in total, but the smart panel has five Ethernet cables coming in. One of those cables even causes interference with the WiFi when plugged into the router. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

It sounds like there might be an issue with the smart panel setup. First, check the panel to ensure that you're actually using Ethernet cables and not telephone cables, which can look similar. If you're unsure, take a picture of your panel and share it for better advice. You might also want to look at the FAQ that explains how to connect your router properly based on the location of your modem and ONT. That could help clarify things!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll see if I can get a pic of the panel up here soon.
Good call! Knowing the cable type is crucial.
