Help! My Galaxy A52 is Locked and I Can’t Remember the Password

I'm having a major issue with my Samsung Galaxy A52. I installed a new finance app called financIdent, and during the setup, I had to set a password and also selected fingerprint security. The problem is that the fingerprint was required to unlock my phone after the app installation, but now, three days later, I'm locked out because it demands a password that I never set up. I think the app might have accessed entire phone settings inadvertently. Has anyone experienced this or knows how to unlock my phone without losing any data? I'm really worried about losing everything. Thanks in advance for your help!

Unfortunately, when you set up a fingerprint, there’s usually a requirement to create a PIN or password first. Without that, the only way to unlock your phone is through a factory reset, which means you'll lose your data.

This situation can sometimes happen when administrative features are set, especially if you have a work phone. It could be possible the app triggered some security settings. I’d recommend looking into whether there's any Knox system involved that could explain the password reset.

It sounds like your app used permissions to access the fingerprint feature, but you likely still had to set a password for the system. Have you attempted to use any potential passwords you might have set during the app setup?

Just a tip—make sure you're using the same finger you set up for the app and try to hold it down for a moment. That might help if the fingerprint temporarily got disabled.
