Hey everyone, I'm trying to get my PC ready for high-quality gaming and I want to play Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Currently, I have a Radeon RX 580 GPU, a Ryzen 5 2600 six-core CPU, an ASUS PRIME B450-PLUS motherboard, and 16GB of RAM. I'm considering upgrading to a Radeon RX 6500 GPU, a Ryzen 5 5600 CPU, an ASUS TUF Gaming B550 PLUS motherboard with WiFi, and increasing my RAM to 32GB. Do you think these upgrades are necessary, or is it better to just get a new PC?

Honestly, the RX 6500 is a poor choice for any budget. You can stick with your current motherboard; no need to replace it. I’d recommend looking for either a B580 or a 7600 XT instead.
For a game like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the RX 6500 is underpowered, leading to low frames and poor visuals. If you're trying to save money, a used RX 6600 XT is a smarter upgrade that won’t bottleneck your gaming experience. Also, no need to change your motherboard; your B450 is compatible with the Ryzen 5 5600, which is a solid upgrade. If you need help deciding the best route to upgrade without overspending, let me know!
The RX 6500 isn't going to cut it for Spider-Man 2. If you're looking to upgrade your GPU, you should really consider getting a used RX 6600 XT instead. It offers much better performance for that game.
Alright, I found one!
Go for at least an RX 6600 for your GPU. The 6500 isn't worth it. You don't really need to upgrade your motherboard either; just update the BIOS on your current board for compatibility with the Ryzen 5 5600. And honestly, 16GB of RAM is still plenty for most games right now. Your focus should be on getting the best GPU upgrade you can afford after going for the 5600.
Yea I don’t think I’ll worry about the motherboard.
