Help! My Monitor Went Black After Updating Nvidia Drivers

I just updated my Nvidia drivers, and everything went wrong. Mid-install, my screen turned completely black. I've tried rebooting, but now my monitor isn't even getting a signal. I can't see the boot-up screen or access the BIOS, so I'm lost. Is there any workaround for this situation? I'm super frustrated!

I had a similar issue, and it got resolved when I unplugged the monitor and plugged it back in. It’s a long shot, but it might just help you get a signal back. Even after that, I was stuck with a black screen and a spinning loading circle. If that happens, try turning it off and on again. Then boot into safe mode. To do that, turn your computer off three times during boot-up, and it should launch recovery mode. From there, use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to uninstall the drivers, and then restart and reinstall the latest or a previous version of the drivers that you know works.

That sounds like a solid plan. Just make sure to uninstall those buggy drivers first, especially the ones for the 5000 series. They’ve had a lot of issues.
