Why Won’t My 2021 MacBook Pro Charge After It Hits 100%?

I've got a 2021 MacBook Pro that charges to 100% without any issues. However, once I start using it and the battery percentage drops, I face a strange issue when trying to charge it again. The charger doesn't seem to work sometimes; it doesn't make the usual charging sound, and the message saying 'battery is not charging' disappears, but no estimated time shows up for charging, like it usually does (around 3 hours when it's low). It's plugged in fine, but it won't charge until I restart my MacBook, which is frustrating since my old laptop didn't have this problem. I've double-checked all my settings after googling the issue, and they seem to be correct. Also, I notice if I leave it to charge while I nap, the percentage can still drop, and I have to restart to get it working again. Any advice would be appreciated!

It sounds like your charger might be the culprit. I had a similar experience with my 2021 MacBook Pro’s charging block. Some days it would work just fine, and on other days, it wouldn't charge at all. I ended up getting a different charger, and that solved my problem!

I was considering getting another charger since I'm still using the original one. Thanks for the tip! I hope that fixes the issue.
