Hey everyone! I recently bought a Samsung Odyssey G5 gaming monitor (2560x1440p, 165hz), and I'm trying to figure out if my current graphics card setup – an RTX 3060 and an AMD 5500 – is enough for consistent gaming at QHD.
I mainly play Counter-Strike 2, where I'm getting around 170-180 FPS at low settings, and I want to boost that FPS more reliably across all my games, which include titles like Marvel Rivals, Minecraft, and Risk of Rain 2. However, I've had a console gaming background, and since building this PC a few months ago, I haven't made any upgrades yet.
I feel like I might be hitting a performance ceiling at around 200 FPS in most games, and I really want to improve that. My budget is under $1,000, ideally around $400 or $500 for each upgrade if needed. I'm looking for any suggestions on what I should upgrade next, whether it's the CPU, GPU, or both. Thanks for any help – I'm still learning all this PC stuff!

If you're looking for a GPU upgrade, consider getting a 5060 Ti or a 7800XT. Both are solid performers! Also, a 5600X would be a nice upgrade from the 5500, but it might not be strictly necessary. Just keep in mind that Counter-Strike and Minecraft are more CPU-intensive, so that's where focusing might help you first.
The 5060 Ti sounds great! I've heard good things about the 5600X too at a decent price. Thanks for the advice!
