How can I persuade my team to explore AI tools?

Hey everyone! I'm leading a team at a conservative German company that has yet to adopt any AI tools, mainly due to their focus on privacy, intellectual property protection, and safety concerns. However, we're dealing with cutting-edge technology in electronics and high-precision mechanics. I genuinely believe that AI could significantly enhance our productivity but I'm struggling to find ways to convince my manager to allocate time and resources for pilot projects. Coding isn't a big part of our work, which complicates demonstrating AI's value. Any suggestions for AI applications that aren't directly related to software development but could be useful in engineering? I'm thinking about using Claude for support in requirements engineering—would that be a good approach?

Claude is pretty impressive, especially with its research capabilities. It can scour thousands of sites to create detailed reports quickly. If you can get a plan that allows for research, consider having Claude generate a comprehensive report on AI benefits in your specific field. A well-formatted PDF might just win over management!

True, but just a heads up—while Claude doesn't train on your data, you might want your legal team to review any contracts for data sensitivity. I'm still pushing to get Claude approved at my workplace, and it's been a struggle!

You could run your question through Claude and see what suggestions it offers! It might even help you make a strong case for management.

Right? Kind of funny that we have AI on sites like this but still ask for advice!

What specific projects are you looking to propose? I've had success introducing AI to management in the past, especially for those who aren’t tech-savvy. If you share more details, I’d be happy to offer more tailored advice or tips right here!
